Former Chief of General Staff under General Sani Abacha regime, Lt. General Oladipo Diya has died at 78. The news was announced in a statement issued by Barrister Prince Oyesinmilola Diya on behalf of the family. According to the statement, the late military leader died in the early hours of Sunday. India announce 3,688 new Covid-19 infections, 50 fatalities

India saw a single day rise of 3,688 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,30,75,864, while the active cases increased to 18,684, the government said on Saturday. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated at 8 am, the death toll rose to 5,23,803 with 50 more fatalities. The active cases constituted 0.04 percent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 percent, the health ministry said.
