Paul Walker’s mother reveals new details about the day he died from a fiery car crash in 2013

Paul Walker’s mother Cheryl has revealed new details about the day her actor son was tragically killed in a freak car accident in 2013.

In the new documentary about his life I Am Paul Walker, his mom reveals he had forgotten all about the event for his charity Reach Out Worldwide, which would turn out to be his final ever engagement.

He would not have gone if he did not receive a text reminding him.

She said that on the morning of his death, while on a break from filming Furious 7, he was in high spirits as he sat in her kitchen with his 15-year-old daughter Meadow, making plans to pick out and decorate a Christmas tree that evening.

‘We were having this good conversation, and he’d forgotten about an event he had,’ she revealed, according to People

‘He got a text and said, “Oh my gosh, I’m supposed to be somewhere!”‘

He rushed out the door to the fundraiser, held at a race shop, to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Walker left the event in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend and financial adviser, former race-car driver Roger Rodas.

The car lost control crashed into a lamppost and exploded, killing both men instantly.

‘I think so many people think, “Oh, he was just a movie star who was killed in a car accident.’ But there was so much more to him,’ his Paul’s mom continued. ‘That was just a piece of who he was. He was an amazing man.’

She revealed that for the past five years, the family goes to one of the last star’s favorite surf spots in Huntington Beach to throw sunflowers in the ocean on September 12, his birthday.

‘I’ve gotten letters from people all over the world who said he made a difference in their lives,’ she said. ‘That is such a blessing. He’s never forgotten.’
