Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda said “It has been 46 years since diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Nigeria was established. Nigeria has developed through the mining industry and has been focusing on oil exports over the past years. The current government is working to develop the agricultural sector. However we lack of experience on this matter. There are a lot of things to learn from Mongolia.” He expressed his willingness to study cashmere production, meat and dairy processing experiences and to explore opportunities for exporting food to Nigeria.
Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry J.Saule mentioned that agriculture is the second largest sector in the economy of Mongolia, dominated by pastoral cattle breeding and recognized worldwide by its cashmere products. She also emphasized that Mongolia can share its expriences and practices in agriculture and light industry with Nigeria and it is possible to devleop mutually beneficial cooperation further.
Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda noted that the meeting set fundaments to the bilateral cooperation and that he will work to set relationships between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries and Nigerian specialists to learn practices from Mongolia in this field.
